Amplifiers are the heart of good music systems.
The two types of amplifiers are power amps that work when paired with a pre-amp, and integrated amps that combine the two into one unit. When purchasing a power amp, one should not consider it seperately from the pre-amplifier with which it is paired. While the highest level of performance is still the domain of seperates,  integrated amps now offer an extremely strong performance with the added advantage of cleaner cable hook-up and simpler control.
